Ayala Triangle, Makati Avenue near corner Ayala Avenue,
Makati City, Philippines
Organizer: The Alcove-Ayala Foundation Inc. |
First introduced in the local photography workshop scene, this course is for photographers who want to gain control of their lighting set up and technique. Students will also learn how to shoot under any lighting condition, including low light, artificial light and mixed light sources and creating images with natural looking light and color. Being the foundation course for any photographic lighting application subject, the class is lecture-based and discussion-dominant with hands-on exercises at the end of day to expedite learning and mastery of topics in preparation for advanced lighting subjects. If you want to learn the "why" of professional lighting and not just "how-tos", then this is the workshop for you. Discussions include:
* Theories and principles of lighting
* Determine the best lighting source for your photography
* Mastering the controllable characteristics of light
* Familiarizing with the tools and accessories of the studio flash system
* Learning how to use the studio flash system
* Understanding the behaviour of light for photographic use
The Speaker
Jay Alonzo personally authored this pioneering course on photographic lighting, realizing the lack and need
for a more in-depth and specialized seminar on the subject
matter in the Philippines in 2002. Teaching for more than 10 years now, Jay A is
considered as one of the country's leading photography-workshop
instructors and has also conducted photography
classes for companies such as Pilipinas Shell, Chevron/Caltex,
Procter & Gamble, Microsoft Philippines. Picture Company also had its photographers enroll in this workshop to further improve their lighting skills.
